To celebrate, we thought it would be great to give some advice to help prep your kids for their next dental visit.<\/span><\/p>\n

1)\u00a0 <\/span>YOU set the tone<\/span><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s important for you, Mom and Dad, to always be positive and encourage your kids not to be afraid!\u00a0 <\/span>If you have a fear or dislike of the dentist, don\u2019t pass that on to another generation of {enter your last name here}\u2019s who dislike dental visits.\u00a0 <\/span>By setting a positive tone, you\u2019ll be setting up your kids for a lifetime of good oral health!<\/span><\/p>\n

2)\u00a0 <\/span>Remain calm\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

If your kids start to freak out during their appointment, don\u2019t worry about it! Our expert pediatric dentists like Drs. Darren Tong and Mark Hermano at Smile More Kidz deal with this every day.\u00a0 <\/span>Be consistent in your visits and they\u2019ll get easier and easier.<\/span><\/p>\n

3)\u00a0 <\/span>Prep their mind<\/span><\/h3>\n

Read your kids books about going to the dentist to help them visualize the visit.\u00a0 <\/span>Go online and show them photos of the office, chairs, dentists and the team members.\u00a0 <\/span>This gives them some familiarity before they get to the office.\u00a0 <\/span>It doesn\u2019t hurt to mention there will be toys, cartoons and any other goodies your dentist might offer!<\/span><\/p>\n

4) Watch your words<\/span><\/h3>\n

Don\u2019t use negative words when you\u2019re talking about the visit.\u00a0 <\/span>Saying \u201cit\u2019s not going to hurt\u201d plants a negative idea that your child may never have even thought of before it flew out of your mouth (pun intended!).<\/span><\/p>\n

5) Ask for a tour<\/span><\/h3>\n
